Sopwith Camel

Sopwith Camel is one of thecmost famous aeroplanes of all times. It came operational in 1917, replacing Sopwith Pup, and this manouverable plane ruled the sky at the end of WW1.

In those days technical development was fast, and after the war Camels were replaced by Sopwith Snipe.

Notes: The model shows Royal Naval Air Service's 10 squadron's plane nr B6299, flown byt Fit Lt Norman Miers MacGregor during end of 1917 to 1918. There is a fully functional repöoca of it at Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome.
